How to Save Recipes from ChatGPT or Claude in a Recipe App

AI chat apps are good at turning “I have eggs and tomatoes” into a recipe idea. They are less good at being a recipe box. Copy the answer, paste it into Souschef, and keep an editable version you can scale and shop from.

Quick answer: Copy the full recipe from ChatGPT, Claude, or another AI chat app. In Souschef, tap +, choose Text, paste, review, and save. Check quantities, cook times, food safety, allergies, and dietary needs before you cook.

How to import an AI-generated recipe

  1. Ask ChatGPT, Claude, or another AI chat app for a recipe with a title, ingredients, servings, and step-by-step instructions.
  2. Copy only that recipe, not the whole chat history.
  3. Open Souschef and tap +.
  4. Choose Text.
  5. Paste, let Souschef extract a title, ingredients, quantities, and steps, then edit and tap Save.

Verify before you cook

AI-generated recipes can invent amounts, skip food-safety steps, or ignore an allergy. Souschef organizes the text you pasted. It does not certify that the source model is correct.

If the chat answer is vague, ask the chat app for exact amounts first, then copy again.

After it is saved

Prompt ideas that import cleanly

Ask for a title, ingredients, servings, and steps. Examples: use expiring produce, cook from pantry staples, or turn leftovers into a second meal. Keep extra shopping optional so the pasted recipe stays honest about what you already have.
