Turn one or multiple recipes into an aisle-sorted grocery list, adjust servings, skip Pantry items, and share the live list.

A recipe tells you what to cook. A useful grocery list tells you what to buy—and combines that information across everything you plan to make.
Souschef turns ingredients from one or multiple recipes into a practical shopping list. You can adjust servings first, group items by aisle or recipe, exclude ingredients already recorded in Pantry, and share a live list with someone else.
Quick answer: Open a saved recipe in Souschef, choose Add to Shopping List, adjust the servings and selected ingredients, then add the items. Repeat with other recipes to build one combined grocery list. You can organize it by aisle or recipe and share the live list.
Add one recipe to your shopping list
- Open the recipe you plan to cook.
- Choose Add to Shopping List.
- Confirm the number of servings.
- Review the ingredients and deselect anything you do not need.
- Add the remaining items to your list.
The list remains editable, so you can correct quantities, add household items, or include something that was not part of the recipe.
🗒️🧺 That is the basic path from a saved recipe to a grocery-ready list.
Combine ingredients from multiple recipes
For a weekly shop, repeat the same process with each recipe in your plan. Souschef can place ingredients from multiple recipes into one list, so you do not have to switch between separate ingredient screens at the store.
Before adding each recipe:
- Set the servings you intend to make
- Remove ingredients you already have
- Check for flexible quantities such as “to taste”
- Confirm that the imported recipe itself is accurate
This is especially useful when you are planning several dinners or batch-cooking for the week.
Adjust servings before adding ingredients
If the recipe serves four but you need six portions, adjust the serving count before creating the shopping list. Souschef recalculates the ingredient quantities based on the selected yield.
Use the result as a planning aid and review quantities that do not scale neatly. Items such as whole packages, garnish, frying oil, and “one can” may still need a practical decision at the store.
Group the list by aisle or by recipe
Different shopping trips call for different views:
- Group by aisle when you want to move through the store efficiently.
- Group by recipe when you want to confirm that every planned meal is covered.
Grouping does not change the underlying items; it changes how you scan and use the list.
Exclude ingredients already in Pantry
Souschef's experimental Pantry feature can help you avoid adding ingredients you already have. Record pantry items in the app, then use Pantry exclusions while building the shopping list.
Because Pantry is experimental, verify it against your actual kitchen before you shop. A recorded item may have been used up, expired, or changed in quantity since it was added.
Share a live grocery list
Share the list when another person is shopping with you or picking up a few items. A live shared list makes it easier for both people to see the current state instead of working from separate screenshots.
The web experience can be used as a lightweight viewer for shared lists. The full creation and recipe-management experience remains in the Souschef mobile app.
Add non-recipe items too
A real grocery run includes more than dinner ingredients. Add household items, snacks, breakfast staples, or anything else you need directly to the same list.
That gives you one place to check off the complete trip—not a recipe list plus a second note you might forget. ✨
