Yes: Souschef is free to download, and every feature is available on the free plan. The paid plan, Souschef Plus, does not unlock Cooking Mode, shopping lists, translation, or other tools. It only removes the recipe import limit.

Prices below are from the Help Center and were checked on 17 September 2026. Storefront prices can vary by country and taxes. There is no Plus free trial and no family plan.

Quick answer: Free includes five saved recipe imports per rolling seven days. Previewing or a failed import does not use a slot. Saved recipes do not expire. Souschef Plus is unlimited imports for $2.99 USD/month or $24.99 USD/year.

What you get on the free plan

You can import, organize, cook, plan, shop, journal, print, translate, and use AI features without upgrading. That includes Cooking Mode, shopping lists, Meal Plan, Pantry, nutrition, tagging, AI Discovery, and translation.

The only weekly limit is new saved imports. Everything already in your library stays fully usable.

Pantry is experimental. Meal Plan is stored on the phone and is not restored after a reinstall or on a new device.

How the 5-import quota works

  1. Share a post, paste a link, scan a photo, or paste text.
  2. Review the preview. Closing without saving does not count.
  3. Tap Save to add the recipe. That uses one of your five slots in the current rolling 7-day window.
  4. After five saved imports, you cannot start another import until a slot frees up or you subscribe to Plus.

What Souschef Plus adds

Souschef Plus is unlimited recipe imports. Both the monthly and annual options include the same benefits, and you can cancel anytime.
